Day Fifty-Six (Ice Cream)

This blog has been allowed to go on for far too long without me talking about Ice Cream. It’s a travesty. I talk a lot about ideas, thoughts, and feelings. I talk a lot about my personal history. But life isn’t just made up of brooding late night thoughts. Most of the time it’s just made up of boring things like work, food, sleep, and traveling. Which is why, if you want to live life to the fullest, you’ve got to take a step back and appreciate the little things sometimes. Like Ice Cream.

I am a chocoholic personally. I love forbidden chocolate. Dark chocolate. Milk chocolate. Double chocolate. Triple chocolate. Chocolate fudge, oreos, brownies, chocolate sauce…the list goes on. I don’t understand the point of putting chocolate chips or chocolate sprinkles on ice cream though. Totally ruins the whole texture. It’s an atrocity that far too many people are intent on committing. Their loss. Also vanilla, with the addition of plenty of chocolate sauce, is a suitable replacement for chocolate. Hell, vanilla on it’s own isn’t so bad either. Although I usually like it with a little extra oomph (oreos, brownies, etc.)

Sometimes it’s nice to just take a break from the worrying, the stress, and the overwhelming fear. Sometimes you’ve just got to buy a quick snack and take your time enjoying it. Take in the view while you’re at it. Walk around. Treat yourself. I’m personally a big fan of Dairy Queen and Pops. Pops trumps Ritas any day. I’m also a fan of the ice cream at the FroYo store I used to work at. I miss getting free Ice Cream multiple times a week. This is probably better for my health, but it’s still a benefit I miss. Free movies are cool too, though.

I’m not sure what else there is to say about Ice Cream. It’s not healthy, but it tastes so damn good. It’s a nice treat every once in awhile on a hot day. I always liked going with my mom when I was little or with friends after an event or show. Sometimes you’ve just got to take a break and do something that might not be great for your body, but is great for your soul.
